Power value (Wattage) measures the energy required to illuminate the product, and lumens determines the brightness of the lamp. This means that the more lumens of the product, the brighter the lamp. Consumers should not choose projection lamps based on the power value (watts), but should consider how much brightness (lumens) they provide us.

Wattage

Wattage is a measure of the energy consumption of a lamp, not the amount of light it emits. For led floodlights, generally 10W to 1000Watt optional. For small places, it is enough for 10W-50Watt, they are suitable for installation at a height of 3-5 meters. Then the higher wattage is better choices for higher place.

Beam angle

The beam angle of the led flood lights are wide or narrow, and the range is between 3°~140°. Different application places have different requirements for the luminous angle. For some trees, landscapes or building outlines, it is more suitable to choose a narrow beam angle led floodlights, which can play a key part of the lighting effect, highlighting the characteristics of the illuminated object. Color temperature

Color temperature refers to the color value emitted by the light source. Different light colors of lamps give people different feelings. There are three options for LED lamps on the market.

Dimmable LED flood lights can be dimmed, but common LED floodlights are not. You need to check if your floodlights are dimmable or not.

There are different light sources for flood lamps. Metal halide flood light fixtures, HPS floodlights fixture and LED Flood lamps. They are different in lifespan as following:

The flicker/flashing of led lights is mainly related to LED chips or LED driver (power supply), and LED floodlights is no exception.

First, the quality of LED chips. Normal single 1W led chips withstand current: 280-300mA, voltage: 3.0-3.4V. If you use low-quality LED chips, it will not match the standard LED drive power parameters. Once the Led chips are subjected to excessive current, it will flash on and off. In severe cases, the gold wire or copper wire built in the chips will be burned, causing the chips to not light up.

Second, the Led driver problem. The main reason is that the electrolytic capacity inside the power supply is insufficient, and the output current and voltage of the lighting system cannot be controlled stably, which makes the LED flood light flashes that turn on and off.

Third, the temperature of the LED flood light is too high. Generally, this kind of light appears in the LED flood light fixtures with built-in power supply. If the driver has an over-temperature protection function, and the material heat dissipation performance of the lamp cannot meet the requirements, the driver over-temperature protection will start to work and there will be flicker, for example, 20W floodlight housing is used to assemble 30W lamp, in this case, the heat dissipation will be too bad to working well.

Fourth, the floodlight is flooded. Floodlights are often used outdoors, if the waterproof strength is not enough, water ingress is likely to occur. Once water enters, it may cause the LED lamp beads to rust and break. As a result, flickering occurs.

  1. The connection method is wrong or the connection connector is not connected to cause no power;
  2. The problem of the lamp equipment, such as the driving power supply is broken, the led chip is burned out, or the quality of the chemical products in the lamp, etc., if it is a connection problem, we can deal with it easily. Connect the digital camera, if it is the second problem, you need a professional or return to the factory for repair or malfunction.

There are many different types as following:

COB led flood lighting: This kind of floodlight uses the previous generation of LED light source technology-COB. Different numbers of LED chips are integrated on a small substrate, which can be assembled and produced quickly. At the same time, COB chips can also be very convenient to customize the color temperature of 2000K-2500K, and the CRI can easily achieve more than 90.

SMD: SMD LED Flood lights fixtures mainly use SMD3030, SMD5730 or SMD2835 chips as light sources. It is better in heat performance and higher in brightness than COB types. It is main trend in markets.

Modular led flood lights: This kind of scheme adopts modular design. The power of each module is planned to be 50W 100W or 200W, and then each module is spliced. This not only improves the heat dissipation performance of the lamp, but also makes maintenance easier. At the same time, the illumination angle of some modules can be adjusted, and each module can be illuminated in different directions. It is mostly used in outdoor stadiums such as football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, tunnels, high pole lights, construction sites, etc.

Low voltage LED flood lights: The input voltage of this kind of floodlight is generally AC/DC12V 24V 36V 48V 60V. Compared with the high-voltage 110Volt or 220VAC input floodlight, the low voltage type will be safer, especially when it is installed outdoors, and easy to be touched by human being. Mostly used in special places such as ships, mines, petrochemicals, petrol stations, etc.

DOB Led flood lights: “DOB” is the abbreviation of “Driver on board”, which means that the power supply is on the board. The so-called DOB led floodlights means that the AC power supply and led chips are integrated on the PCB at the same time. It is also called driverless AC LED flood lights. The cost of this luminaries is the lowest, but in terms of quality, it is not as good as floodlights with constant current drive. Moreover, the input voltage of most DOB Flood lights can only be 220-240VAC, and the power factor is generally only about 0.5-0.6. Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, South America non-developed markets. This kind of lamps is not suitable for commercial and industrial projects and places with strict quality requirements.

Explosion proof flood LED light: It refers to a floodlight used in dangerous places where combustible gas and dust exist, and can prevent arcs, sparks and high temperature that may be generated inside the lamp from igniting combustible gases and dust in the surrounding environment, so as to meet the requirements of explosion-proof. It belongs to a special kind of lamp, and its protection level is higher than that of conventional floodlights. Suitable for various indoor and outdoor operations and construction sites such as flammable and explosive places, oil fields, offshore oil platforms, ships, metallurgy, petrochemicals, etc.

Exterior landscape flood lights: This type of floodlight is mainly used for lighting effects of outdoor landscapes, such as illuminating trees and rockery at night. Their power is mostly less than 50W, and their light-emitting angle is mostly 30°. Mostly used in parks, squares and other places.

Motion flood lights is a smart light fixture. It is added extra sensor device on the floodlights. PIR Sensor floodlights mainly rely on sensing the movement of objects with a certain temperature to turn on or turn off the lights, such as people, animals, etc. However, the Microwave radar flood lights can sense the movement of any object.   2. Lift the base to the installation position.
  3. Use a pen or other tools to make the position of the screw hole on the wall. Or put it on to high pole.
  4. Drill holes.
  5. Install the base, fix the screws, etc.
  6. Adjust the screws on the fixing clip to adjust the floodlight to a proper angle of illumination.
  7. There are three power cords at the bottom of the flood light fixture. This cord is a 3-core wire; the blue wire is the neutral wire N, the brown-red wires is the live wire L, and the yellow/yellow-green wire is the ground wire PE.

  1. The floodlight is designed to be waterproof and moisture-proof, and its protection level can reach IP65. It can withstand the test of rain from top to bottom, but cannot work under water, and its protection level does not meet the requirements of underwater work.
  2. The location where the floodlight is installed must have sufficient bearing capacity, and its bearing capacity should be able to bear more than 10 times the weight of the driver.
  3. The working power supply of the floodlight is high-voltage alternating current, which should be kept away from places easily accessible by people, and the floodlight must be grounded, and the grounding wire must be grounded.
  4. The floodlight is a power-type device and is very sensitive to the ambient temperature. When the working environment temperature is higher than 45°C, its life will be significantly reduced, and there will be signs of serious light decay. Therefore, the floodlight should be placed in a ventilated place to keep the floodlight with relatively good heat dissipation environmental conditions.
  5. The working environment temperature of the flood light should be between -25°C~+45°C. The temperature of the workplace must not exceed 45°C to ensure the service life of the floodlight.
  6. Since the power of the floodlight is relatively large, the appropriate power cord should be selected according to the actual power when laying the power cord. And separate phase power supply.
