To achieve the ideal “hill” lighting effect, here are some suggestions:
- Distance from Wall: Based on practical testing in an optical laboratory, it is recommended to install the lights at a wall distance of 15-20 cm to achieve a flawless hillock effect.
- Distance Between Lights: Recommended to install the lights at a distance of 100-150 cm between them. A distance of 100-120 cm creates a connected hillock arc, while a distance of 120-150 cm results in the arcs intersecting lower down, and at 150 cm, the hillocks are not connected.
- Corner Distance: It is recommended that the distance from the center of the spotlight’s cutout to the corner of the wall be greater than 100 cm.
- Beam Angle: For wall-washing, the light beam should be directed straight without adjusting the angle, as adjusting the angle will affect the hillock effect. For general lighting (non-wall-washing), the beam angle can be adjusted to change the lighting area or provide direct illumination
